I can't give you a really informed answer to the "Sims 4 + Get Work" part of the question, but I can tell you that I consider Ambitions to be one of the three or so "must have" expansions for Sims 3 (Seasons and Generations are two others). Everything is very interesting, I really liked your opinion, broad and direct, thank you very much, I hope to see more opinions, I am between these 2 games, thank you very much And don't forget the laundry system, totally optional new chore for your Sims, but chore that is not really that hard and has benefits of new positive moodlets.

I also like the new skills and the possibility to have my Sims self-employed, so they can get professional Inventor, Sculptor, Writer etc.
The other two careers are less stereotypical, since each job is different. However, Firefighter, Ghost Hunter and Investigator careers tend to get quite stereotypical, which is especially sad with Firefighter career, since from what I've heard from RL firefighters, their job is anything but stereotype. Anyway, Sims 3 itself is a lot of fun and Ambitions added a lot more to do. The real Estate system in the pack is more closer to the owned businesses in Sims 2 Open for Business EP than the system in Sims 3 that was actually introduced to the base game in patch coinciding with Ambitions release, so that may or may not be improvement, depending on your preferences, though I personally would like to one day see Sims game that has both of these systems together. Its 3 new careers, from what I've heard, are as much stereotype, as the 3 careers I mentioned from Ambitions. And, from what I've heard, the same can be told about Get to Work, but I don't have that EP, so my opinions are only based on reviews, let's playes and other things I've read on the net. Sims 4 itself is a step back from Sims 3 in many directions, though there are some things that were improvements.
